Academic Interests
-
General interest
- I've always been interested in generic methodology. I am currently working on developing statistical machine learning as a major frontiers of statistics/information technology.
-
Causality for learning from small data.
- Using causal knowledge/discovery for small-data machine learning.
- Transfer learning based on similarity of causal mechanisms (causal mechanism transfer).
- Incorporating causal graphical knowledge into predictive modeling (causal-graph data augmentation).
-
Machine learning for social sciences / natural sciences.
- Machine learning methods that can deal with data deficiencies common in sciences.
- Recovering data from ceiling effects, a.k.a. censoring: clipped matrix completion.
-
Machine learning methodology in general.
- Classification learning from limited information (positive-unlabeled classification)
- Robust approximate Bayesian computation,
- Density ratio estimation
- Representation power of invertible neural networks
